Located just across the road and in front of the hotel row, this charming spot at the end of a dirt path offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere. A white stucco entrance leads to a dining area, part of which is on a stone patio surrounded by trees strung with lights. The tiled kitchen and bar are also outdoors.
The name Metate refers to a flat stone traditionally used for grinding corn and other grains, and the menu is based around wood-fired antojitos and grilled meats. The Baja tacos feature two blue corn tortillas topped with perfectly cooked white fish, covered in a squid ink-tinted batter, and finished with finely shredded pickled cabbage, making for a visually striking presentation.
Cocina de Autor
Located in the exclusive Grand Velas hotel, decorated with vibrant bougainvillea, this sophisticated beachfront restaurant is enhanced by the resort’s formal dress code. The terrace is the perfect spot to enjoy appetizers and cocktails, with select tables offering views of a koi pond.
The tasting menu features bold, experimental cuisine, especially in its flavor pairings. A standout is a farm-raised scallop accompanied by miso butter, tom yum, and a shiso leaf fried in tempura. In an explosion of flavors, the beef filet is served with celery root purée, poached beets, and maitake mushrooms. To finish, grated Comté with a quenelle of honey ice cream offers a creative twist on the traditional cheese course.

Our culinary proposal is inspired by the richness of local ingredients, from the land and the sea, giving life to an innovative menu that fuses Mediterranean and Asian influences.
Both breakfast and dinner adapt to the seasons, evolving with the growing cycles and using fresh products harvested directly on-site.
Manta Restaurant
Inspired by the simplicity and elegance of the desert, Manta—designed by JSa Arquitectura and Enrique Olvera—was envisioned as a black box that highlights views of one of Cabo’s most exclusive and serene beaches. The name Mantacarries a deliberate double meaning: the manta ray, reflecting the seafood focus of the cuisine, and manta, the Spanish word for canvas, evoking artistic freedom.
As a key part of The Cape’s culinary offerings, Manta pays homage to the cultures along the Pacific coasts, drawing inspiration from Mexico, Peru, Japan, and other regions. Chef Abisai Sánchez is committed to using local and sustainable ingredients from Baja, while maintaining a relaxed and accessible atmosphere.
